Ricky Tomlinson has played principal parts in TV dramas "Brookside", "Cracker" and "Hillsborough". For his role in "Riff Raff" (Ken Loach) he was nominated for European Supporting Artist of the Year. He also starred in "Raining Stones" which won the Cannes Film Festival Special Jury Award.

In the film, Ricky plays the part of Fibbin' Gibbins, the tabloid journalist.
