Zos & Kia, better known as the Chaos Clowns, have been creating uproar for three years now - starting at the Forest fair Festival in 1993 they have stormed the stages of the British fetish scene and rave scene with their high energy, outrageous and exciting act. Regularly playing such prestigious venues as Torture Garden, Ministry of Sound, Hackney Empire and many more. In 1995 they came to mainland Europe with a tour including Munich, Paris, Copenhagen and Nurenberg to great receptions everywhere. Their names, come from the magical writings of Austin Osman Spare (the man who put AOS into chaos!). Zos:- that which is known; and Kia - that which is unknowable.
The Clowns have two aspects, two distinctive shows. The Lightside show requires the stage to be flooded with ultra violet light, as well as supplementary white spotlight. Their neon costumes shriek colour under the UV, as does their make-up and U.V. reactive props. The Darkside show is just that-dark! With black and silver and black and Gold costumes that look fantastic in virtually any colour lighting, or plain white spot. The Darkside Clowns present their show as a magical ritual, with firm intent to warp reality, including blood sacrifice, trial by fire and explosive banishing! Needless to say the clowns are both noisy and messy whichever aspect is chosen! Three show tapes of various duration are available: 15 mins, 20 mins or 25 mins, depending on the length of show required. The clowns strut their stuff to hard house and techno so audiences don't need to stop dancing.
The act has been a continuous process of evolution, each performance tailored to suit each individual gig, and NEVER exactly the same twice. A series of progressively more bizarre stunts are given new twists at every performance. Sometimes things go wrong giving opportunity for reactive clowning and unexpected humour. Although mistakes are never planned, with an act as close to the edge as this one, shit happens! Exciting, stochastic, dangerous, stupid, pointless and messy, but massively, incredibly ENTERTAINING!
